Nordic Knots is well-made textiles and rugs, founded on the Scandinavian tradition of functional design with a minimalist aesthetic, created in 2016 by Liza Laserow and Fabian Berglund, a Swedish couple living in New York.

The rugs bear the hallmarks of classic Nordic design; the aesthetic is cool and understated, with pared-back geometric patterns and tonal colour combinations. Memories and images of Sweden are at the heart of the designs. Some pieces, woven in soft greenish-blues, greys and white, recall the hazy light and the gently rolling flatlands of the Swedish landscape. Other rugs feature richer, bolder hues: the deep blues, dusty pinks, lemon yellows and burnt reds that run through the collection are characteristic of the vibrant facades of Stockholm’s well-known 19th-century houses.

In an effort to continue to bring inspiration to functional design, 2023 also saw the introduction of curtains to the Nordic Knots world, marking the first time the company expands into a new category. Taking a similar approach to their curtains as they do their rugs: focusing on high quality fabrics and Scandinavian aesthetic at a sensible price point. Woven from pure wool sourced from Australia, Nordic Knots curtains are tailored with a contemporary vision of understated elegance, bringing structure and depth to a room.
